Scatter Diagram Critical Thinking This Term Paper

The empirical evidence below will show the situation report of the Police Unit administration in Seattle, containing a scattered plot underlining the correlation between the Crimes familiar to the state police and the drug delivery arrests. Why is this connection important to Police officials? Because it shows the efficiency of the police department in this district, taking into account the total number of crimes reported and the drug delivery arrests.

We have attached above the scattered plot that we were mentioning about. On the vertical axis, it represents the values for the drug delivery arrests, while on the horizontal axis we have the known violent and property crimes. As it can be observed there is a strong association between the crimes familiar to the police bodies and the numbers of drug deliveries arrests - most observation points are situated on the imaginary 45 degrees slope line.

However this decision making tool does not offer a clear prediction of the correlation between the crimes reported to police officials and the drug delivery arrest registered within the registered plots 80, 81, 91, 92 and 53(01). In order to make the reader better understand the situation, we should mention that for...

But in point 80 if there were 3000 crimes familiar to the police there must be 300 arrests, three times more than the expected results determined by the 45-degree slope for the entire district. So as a conclusion for the Seattle case, we might say that the police station represented by point 80 on the graph, has a productivity in performing drug delivery arrests three times higher than the district average.
As a conclusion, we may state that the Scattered diagram plays an important role in the decision making process, having application in the majority of fields. Its ability to determine the correlation of two variables is crucial in many aspects for the above mentioned reasons (efficiency, problem identification).
